Year 6 Lledr Hall 2019
Monday 28th January, 2019
What an action packed first day! As soon as we arrived, we were straight to activities (with a huge amount of delicious food in between). We are all kitted out in outdoor gear and cosy beds have been made. The children have made us incredibly proud, demonstrating cooperation and consideration from finding well-hidden targets in orienteering, to helping one another tie shoelaces. We have explored, eaten, identified trees, eaten, hugged trees, cleared tables, set tables and eaten. We all feel very much at home already and are looking forward to tomorrow's adventures. Oh, and more delicious food. The children are missing you all but happy and settled in for a well-earned night's sleep.

Everyone was so worn out that they managed a good night's sleep. Luckily we woke up in time for our first Lledr breakfast, which is a fine feast. Mountains of cereal, toast, bacon and pancakes set us up for the day...and then the snow came! Most of us have never seen snow like it - huge flakes of fluffy freezing snow! Despite the conditions, we managed to plant trees in the grounds as part of our John Muir Conservation Project. This is an amazing opportunity to leave a legacy in such a special place - maybe one day we will visit as adults to see the trees we planted. We are still missing you all but we are still happy. And tired!

Lledr is like a magical winter wonderland. The snow is plentiful and beautiful. We decided to make the most of it and went for an incredible 8.5 km walk! We were like Polar explorers. Not one person complained or gave up - everyone supported each other and kept our spirits up. Well done Year 6, you made us very proud. After all that hard work, we had a great time sledging down a steep hill. It's time now for movie night - if we can stay awake until the end of the film! Good night all. We are thinking of you and can't wait to tell you all about our snowy adventures.

What a challenging day! Amongst all the snow, we have managed to tackle the high ropes here in the grounds of Lledr. This was a big test of our courage but we rose to the challenge. We also completed the 'Fisherman's Walk' which is more of a sideways climb along the cliffs of a rapidly flowing river. Don't look down! It's a wonderful feeling to reach the end of the course and look back at the treacherous route! If we can do this, we can do anything! There will certainly be some deep sleep tonight. Although we are very sad about it being our last night at Lledr, we are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

We're coming home! We have had an amazing time and have made so many magical memories. We can't wait to tell you all about it. The team here have looked after us very well - we have been well fed and challenged in our activities. A big thank you to them all from us. Now we can't wait to see you all. It won't be long!
