School of Sanctuary
We are proud to announce that we are a School of Sanctuary.
We have worked closely with Salford's EMTAS team throughout 2018 and 2019 to gain accreditation for our good practice. St Philips attended a special awards ceremony on 25th November 2019 and the welcome Ambassadors and choir sang and presented our work to an audience that included the major of Salford.
The children spoke about our commitment to ensuring that our children and their families, staff and the community understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary and the struggles asylum seekers and refugees face.
St Philips CE Primary School is committed to being a welcoming and safe place for all. We are not just a sanctuary for those whose lives were in danger in their own country, but to any pupils who are experiencing difficulties at home or are just needing a place to feel secure and safe. We feel that we provide a nurturing environment for our young children, and that we take the time to make sure we are doing all we can for all our children so that they are settled and happy.
