Reading Roadshow

We have once again been lucky enough to partner up with Wood Street Mission, to provide our pupils and families with free books, to encourage reading for pleasure. It was a great day and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. We cannot thank Wood Street Mission enough for the chance to be a part of their 'Book Roadshow.' Quotes from the children include:

"I am happy." (Maiya- Reception)

"I love all of my books. They're fantastic." (Daniella- Year 1)

"It was really, really impressive." (Oliver- LR1)

"I'm really excited to read them." (Leslie- Year 2)

"This was a great thing to get new books." (Temi- Year 3)

"It's great. I've got my collection of Roald Dahl books now." (Anthony- Year 4)

"I got some great books." (Scott- Year 5)

"It's been good. I've got some good books." (Keaton- Year 6)

Thank you to parents for attending and choosing some books for their younger children.

One parent had this to say, "I have chosen some great books to share as a family."

Amanda from Wood Street Mission had this to say; "Wood Street Mission are delighted to be part of this exciting new venture. One of the most important things a child can do is to develop a love of reading and books. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with St Philip's and we look forward to developing our relationship with the school."

'If you can read, you can do anything!'
