Church events this Christmas

Advent Service in Church - Wednesday December 6th

We have started our Christmas celebrations this week with our first Advent service in St Philip's Church led by Rick and Gareth. We sang songs and heard the story of the Shepherds waiting for news on the hillside.

Did you know that Advent means "waiting"?

We know all about the traditions and importance of Advent symbols, particularly the candles on the Advent ring. We have made one for our own worship in school.

Christmas Fair - Thursday December 7th

Thank you to all our children and families for coming to the Christmas Fair today. We had a lovely time and it was brilliant to see so many people there. Father Christmas was very popular and was pleased to meet all the children. Thanks go to the Church team who helped Father Christmas with his Grotto.

We raised over £580 for school - so thanks go to everyone who supported us!

The gallery shows a selection of pictures from the fair for you to look at.

Nativity Performance - Tuesday December 19th

Thanks to everyone who came to the Nativity in the beautiful setting of St Philip's Church. The children sang brilliantly - learning all the words to the songs and their narration.

It was lovely to welcome so many people into Church for tea, coffee and refreshments beforehand. We really enjoyed chatting with you all and soaking in the atmosphere whilst waiting for the performance to begin. It was also great to see some familiar faces in the audience. The children were thrilled to see Mrs Brady! Thanks to the church team for their support with everything.

Thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to bring the performance together - it was a lovely way to round off our Christmas celebrations!

Christmas Dinner Day - Wednesday December 20th

Christmas Dinner was a great success. Thanks to Rita and her team for a lovely dinner which was enjoyed by everyone. We took the opportunity to thank the staff who make our lunchtimes so special and fun as well as the Gardeners who look after the grounds. We sang a rousing version of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" before heading off for playtime.

Christmas Party - Friday December 22nd

We had a great last day full of fun, dancing and laughter! The children enjoyed a party lunch and played lots of games. Father Christmas visited us again and each child was given a present and the chance to ask Father Christmas for other presents in person.

Miss Kinch and Mr Hayward got wrapped up as part of the Year 3 and 4 party games, Miss Davies and Mrs Morris were seen enjoying some zumba-style dances with Key Stage One. It was a brilliant way to finish the term!
